200th Educational Resources

From lesson plans to curriculum guides, we have Common Core-aligned resources to make the history of the rail come alive!

The story of America can be found in the history of the railroad. We are excited to share these educational resources with teachers. Our goal is to empower you to celebrate the impact railroading has had on every part of American society.

Railroading’s contributions are interwoven in many school subjects, including engineering and technology, culture and society, economics and commerce, or governance and warfare.

Coming FOR the 2026-27 School Year

Each program listed below will include a detailed lesson plan with a classroom activity appropriate for different grades, ranging from Pre-K to 12th. Please see the chart below, which includes all the various subject matters and grade levels. We hope these resources will provide teachable moments in the classroom to celebrate the critical impact railroading has had on our American way of life over the last 200 years.
